Even though for many years prior to the forming of the Association many people who were already trying to preserve the breed they came together in 2007 and formed the Florida Cracker Sheep Association. After the study was completed and the Florida Cracker Sheep was separated into it's own breed the Association started accepting applications for registry of individual sheep. The Association is in the process of completing their charter, by laws and breed standards.
Mission Statement
• Raise, conserve, promote and publish facts pertaining to Florida Cracker sheep.
• Register and keep on file all records of registrations and transfers of Florida Cracker sheep in the United States.
• Support and promote the interests of Florida Cracker sheep breeders.
• Work together and exchange information and ideas that will be helpful in
raising and conserving the Florida Cracker sheep.
• Develop better markets
• To involve our youth in every part of sheep production.
• To inform sheep breeders of current developments in Federal and State
regulation of the sheep industry as they pertain to Florida Cracker Sheep.
• To do such things as will promote the breeding and preservation of Florida
Cracker Sheep and the success of individual members of the association.
• To biannually elect officers and board members committed to perpetuating the
purposes stated above
